Week 3

And today we get to the end of another week. I could finally manage to complete all the assignments. The task of the week was to create a Delicious page and add links to it. I found the website very interesting especially because of the possibility of sharing my links with other people. I think I'll be using my Delicious page more for work than for personal stuff. It will be easier to organize and share with my colleagues.
Another task we had this week was reading some articles on CALL and how technology could be used for speaking and listening activities. I visited lots of websites and got many great ideas!
The last task was looking at some project reports from previous terms, so we could have an idea of what it looks like. This was just great! We could get a better idea of what we are supposed to do, and lower the anxiety.
Another great week, full of learning and full of new resources!

Week 2

What a busy and fruitful week!
There were basically 3 tasks to be accomplished this week.

The first one was a discussion on search engines. As a regular internet user, and quite addicted to it, I had always used Google whenever I wanted to search anything about any subject. It was a great pleasure to have my eyes opened to new possibilities. I took a really long time exploring the new tools and found many websites I can use with my students. Being able to narrow down searches to reliable websites only can be very useful in class. When using Google, we are never sure of the quality of the results we get. By using specific search websites, we can guarantee that students will only find quality results.
The second task was describing a class that would benefit from a technology change. At this point, I realized that I do misuse the resources I have available. There is so much I still need to learn and to improve. Reading about my classmates classes made me realize how lucky I am also, for having so much technology in the classroom and around me.
The third task was writing an objective using the ABCD style (Audience-Behavior-Condition-Degree). See it here! This was quite an interesting task. I do write objectives for my lessons, but I had never used this model before. It is very clear and straight forward. It seems that anyone who reads this kind of objective can understand it clearly. I had always used the SWBAT (Students will be able to...) model, but never in such a complete way. Using it will make my objectives more tangible and feasible.
To sum up, we did have a lot of work, but the tasks were certainly very relevant for my life as a teacher!

This will be the space for my weekly reflection. I hope to learn a lot about webskills and also to be able to share a lot of ideas! =)
